Notes: Did it once. Quite yummy. Need to work on it to make the kids hooked.
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
½ tbsp butter
½ cup steel cut oats
1 ½ cup water
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup skim milk
3 heaping tbsp wild blueberry jam
¼ cup blueberries for topping
¼ cup plain yogurt for topping
Program:
- In a medium saucepan on medium heat, melt butter. Add oats and stir in butter to toast, about 2 minutes.
- In a separate pan or a kettle, boil water. Add water and salt to oats. Reduce heat to medium-low and allow to cook for 25 minutes without stirring.
- Stir in milk and allow to cook for an additional 8 minutes. Stir in blueberry jam and increase heat to medium. Cook until thickened to desired consistency, stirring constantly (2-5 minutes).
- To serve, spoon out oats. Top with remaining blueberries and yogurt.
